2-What is the difference between syllabus design and curriculum development?
the dif is that syllabus is concerned with the selection and justification,. And the curriculum development is focused on: when, when and how to teach and also how to evaluate.

3-How are syllabuses developed in language programs you are familiar with?
With some books we are familiar with “Magic Teens” (Richmond) and with “Developing Oportunities” (Longman) a good plannification and organization of the classes.

4-What are the characteristics of a language teaching method? In what ways do methods raise issues related to curriculum development?
The characteristic of the language teaching method are that methods continue through the time, they prescribe not only the way a language but also the order in which contents should be presented.

5-How relevant are the issues of selection and gradation to language teaching today? What factors influence current views of selection and gradation?
The issues of selection and gradation of language teaching today are highly relevant because of times The factors that influence current views of selection and gradation are :The amount of time available for teaching, the objectives of the courses, the teaching method used, select the words according to the kind of students, select the words that could be used in everyday students` life.

6-Examine a low- level language teaching text. What factors influence the selection and gradation of grammatical items in the text?The factors that influence the selection and gradation of grammatical items in the text are the following :
_ Linguistic distance
_Intrinsic difficulties
_Communicative needs
_ Frequency

7-Are the concepts of selection and gradation compatible with the use of authentic texts or sources in language teaching? Yes, they are because one is useful or help to the other. As future teachers we have to select the texts that we will use according to our goalstaking into account if the text has continuity, clarity, simplicity, usefulness, and if has a logical progression.

8-How useful are word lists such as those illustrated in appendixes 1 and 2 today? They are not very common because people just want to know the meaning of a word and anything else.
